I personally use the 3x4 blueprint to enhance my health practices. I look at it to help me formulate better activity and exercise programs for myself. It has answered many questions about why I am still not feeling vibrant and healthy despite doing all the "right" things etc. I now know why I still get headaches and some GI distress, why I need detoxification support and what foods are of the highest benefit to me personally.

I highly recommend adding this information to your tool box for your health now and for continued health in the future.

AND remember your genes are NOT your destiny and they can certainly help you be better equipped and informed about your genetic weaknesses and how to modify those expressions.

Are we limiting ourselves?

I had an interesting discussion this morning which led me to think about the ways we limit our experiences and life by what we attach to.

We get attached to certain ideas and belief systems and when those are challenged we tend to resist. and block the chance to experience a shift in our energy and perception. Through our ego/pain body we experience life in a distorted manner.

I see this is many things, like meditation. We may have pre-conceived ideas of what meditation is and therefore feel like we never get it right or that we can't or don't know how to meditate. Anytime you are just riding the waves of thoughts and feelings and not attaching or going down the rabbit hole with any of it, you are experiencing a form of meditation. That is why a long walk in the woods or on the beach or a nice bicycle ride leaves you feeling energized and or relaxed.

With our thoughts and ideas about how things should be, we limit experiencing how things actually are and we may even block ourselves from 'seeing' clearly.

How are you limiting yourself and your experiences and your true expression?

I invite you to take some time to explore this.

The age of the wise woman…

Boy, this week has been one helluva ride. I have experienced congestion, body aches and a bit of a fevered night filled with dreams and sensations that were both unconscious and semi-conscious, both enlightening and weird. The total discomfort was intense. And add to that the energy of a full moon.

I was fortunate to be moving through some energetic shifts and unless you have experienced them consciously, it is hard to explain. Our bodies/ego does resist at such a time, making it a tangible physical experience (pain and discomfort)

The way we view the world shifts and changes as we move through the years and I for one always wish for the views to be uplifting, loving and empowering to all. And thankfully, for me, this is definitely the case. I am entering, what the ancients call, the age of the wise woman, and because I have no roadmap for this, I find it both exhilarating and as you can see form this post, uncomfortable.

I have also come to realize that it is time for me to embrace this new phase of life and all the physical changes it brings. Acceptance and allowing are huge opportunities for me now. This can be hard for someone who has always practiced control. Having gratitude for all the lessons and gifts this transition is offering me, helps.

I am being pushed to release control, to let go and allow. I am declaring: As I let go miracles happen.

It is time to be empowered, or actually, to embrace my power fully and in turn, empower all mature woman.

To all the maturing women out there, our lives are just beginning, we are finally free to be all that we are. We are free to accept and love our bodies and minds and allow them to soar. We are beautiful and have the wisdom that comes with age, experience and healing.

The time of self doubt and being limited by an old narrative is over. The time for playing small and insignificant is over. The time to rise up to our fullness is now and I am ready and I am sharing it with all the beautiful wise women around me.

I love you and I see you, she says to herself first, and in so doing, is saying it to all women and to the sacred feminine in all of humanity. I love you, you are wise, strong, beautiful and powerful.

Embracing womanhood and appreciating the women around you.

It is time for us to embrace the women around us and stop competing. We are all amazing and powerful and sisters. When we grow and succeed and love and embrace our own power we do so for all women.

We are not enemies, we are here to recognize our own divinity and see it reflected in the eyes of all women. Our pain is shared and so is our power.

I love this post by The daily Om....I hope it touches you like it touched me and inspires you like it inspires me.

Embracing Womanhood

When a woman honors herself, all women collectively move closer to becoming what they're truly capable of being.

There are many ways and myriad reasons for women to honor and embrace all that they are. And when any individual woman chooses to do so, all women collectively move closer to becoming what they are truly capable of being. By honoring her experience and being willing to share it with others -- both male and female -- she teaches as she learns. When she can trust herself and her inner voice, she teaches those around her to trust her as well. Clasping hands with family members and friends, coworkers and strangers in a shared walk through the journey of life, she allows all to see the self-respect she possesses and accepts their respect, too, that is offered through look, word, and deed.

When a woman can look back into her past, doing so without regret and instead seeing only lessons that brought her to her current strength and wisdom, she embraces the fullness of her experience. She helps those around her to build upon the past as she does. And when she chooses to create her desires, she places her power in the present and moves forward with life into the future.

Seeing her own divinity, a woman learns to recognize the divinity in all women. She then can see her body as a temple, appreciating its feminine form and function, regardless of what age or stage of life she finds herself. She can enjoy all that it brings to her experience and appreciate other women and their experiences as well. Rather than seeing other women as competition, she can look around her to see the cycle of life reflected in the beauty of her sisters, reminding her of her own radiance should she ever forget. She can then celebrate all the many aspects that make her a being worthy of praise, dancing to express the physical, speaking proudly to express her intellect, sharing her emotions, and leading the way with her spiritual guidance. Embracing her womanhood, she reveals the facets that allow her to shine with the beauty and strength of a diamond to illuminate her world

YES, YOU are enough

 Oh my word,

This article hit the spot for me. I could not have said it any better....

There are many times that I have feelings of inadequacies and it usually happens when I am comparing myself to others and the major accomplishments and philantrophic work they do. I forget that being me, being true to myself and loving myself is enough. The energy of that fullness and radiance emanates and shines on everyone you meet.

We never know how our being-ness and energy affects others and the healing affect we have by giving a smile, a hug, words of encouragement and/or positivity. By following our passion and sharing ourselves authentically we have a powerful impact on the world around us. We are all and integral part of the tapestry of life and the world needs us to be just as we are.

I hope this article from the DAILYOM inspires and touches your heart like it did mine...

You Are Enough

Just being here, being ourselves, is enough.

Most of us have the feeling that we are here to accomplish something big in our lives, and if we haven't done something that fits the bill we may feel as if we are waiting. We may feel incomplete, or empty, as if our lives don't yet make sense to us, because they don't line up with our idea of major accomplishment. In some cases, this may be because we really are meant to do something that we haven't yet done. But in most cases, we can let ourselves off the hook with the realization that just being here, being ourselves, is enough.

As we live our lives in this world, we share our energy and our spirit with the people around us in numerous ways. Our influence touches their lives and, through them, touches the lives of many more people. When we strive to live our lives to the fullest and to become our true selves, we are doing something big on an inner level, and that is more than enough to make sense of our being here on this planet at this time. There is no need to hold ourselves to an old idea in the back of our minds that we need to make headlines or single-handedly save the world in order to validate our existence.

We can each look within our hearts to discover what is true for us, what gives our lives meaning, and what excites us. We can release ourselves from any pressure to perform that comes from outside of our inner sense of purpose. Staying in tune with our own values and living our lives in tune with our own vision is all we need in order to fulfill our time here. Our lives are a process of becoming so that we cannot help but cocreate; being who we are, responding to each moment as it comes, we can trust that this is enough.

Fear and Immunity

HOW FEAR AFFECTS YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM

Guest Post by Dr Mariah Mosley

Why your health may be severely suffering during the COVID19 outbreak, even if you are not exposed: The scariest part of this pandemic

This isn’t going to be an article trying to convince you the COVID-19 virus isn’t something to worry about, because right now having some fears come up is unavoidable. I primarily attribute this to the media is pushing intense fear/panic at us, by using inaccurate footage1 of overcrowded hospitals in NYC (but it was actually Italy), deaths attributed to COVID19 when the person in question is actually alive and well2, or died from other causes.
The United States as a whole is in a moral panic. Will our jobs be okay? Will the stock market crash? Will we all get sick and die? Do we have enough toilet paper in our house to last six more months?
We have to learn how to deal with this “moral panic”3 that is way more likely to infect our minds than our lungs.

Long-Term Stress and Physical Consequences

First I want to say that it is not inherently abnormal to jump to fear in a state of “crisis”. This is a protective and paramount mechanism that humans have instilled within them: to SURVIVE.
However, this mechanism is meant for short bursts only. When we are in this state of fear and worry for extended periods of time, it will physically cause issues. Countless studies4 have shown this correlation: how “chronic stress has a significant effect on the immune system that ultimately manifest in illness”.
It has been shown to increase the risk of diabetes by altering insulin needs. Stress can cause peptic ulcers or ulcerative colitis, as it can alter the acid in the stomach (side note: low stomach acid is not a good thing, more on PPIs and their dangers here5). Chronic stress and worrying over your fears can also lead to plaque build up in arteries7. It also has a stronger correlation with psychiatric illness, like depression6 and schizophrenia.  There are also recent studies that show a link between stress and tumor development (cancer) and suppression of natural killer cells (the ones that usually destroy cancer in our bodies)8,9.
According to Occupational Health and Safety news and the National Council on compensation of insurance, “up to 90% of all visits to primary care physicians are for stress-related complaints.”4

Fear and the Immune System

Exposure to acute stress, trauma, and fear have been shown in both mice and humans to compromise immune function10 and impair lymphocyte function (lymphocytes are our white blood cells that fight viruses). Fear and stress makes you more vulnerable to infectious diseases.

Strategies to Combat Fear

One technique you can use for fear when it comes up is deep belly breathing with positive affirmations. This helps coax the body into a relaxation mode, and it is very helpful in stressful situations when you feel any anxiety rising up. By breathing down deeply into your belly (not expanding your chest), you are stimulating the Vagus nerve, which runs along the diaphragm to put your body back into parasympathetic mode (calming, slows heart rate, helps digestion).  It’s hard to catch yourself before going into the rabbit hole of fear, but it is very helpful, and possible with practice!
  1. When you feel the fear and the “what-if” thoughts start to rise up. Stop right where you are. Close your eyes.
  2. Find a positive affirmation of truth that completely counters the previous worry. For example: for fear of disease, use “My body is strong, healthy, and I trust my immune system”. Or for fear of financial loss, use “I am capable of anything, and trust that God has my back in this”.  Find whatever works for you.
  3. Place your hands over your lower belly, with your pointer and middle fingers touching.
  4. Breath deep into your belly through your nose. Your hands should separate slightly as you breathe in.
  5. Breathe out all the way, slowly through your mouth.
  6. Do 10-20 deep breaths, then open your eyes and notice if you feel more grounded and stable.

Arriving here....a healing journey

I open my eyes and I am shocked. I am shocked to see the expression on the face of one who is supposed to be excited for my arrival. I am shocked to see no love from the one who carried me. My tiny being does not comprehend all of this. All I feel is the lack of warmth, love and comfort. I feel cold and alone, so different than the space I came from, and I don't mean your womb!

I remember the trauma and then just as quickly it is gone, submerged deep into my psyche, to be expressed when least expected.  To be expressed in so many unnatural and unhealthy ways.

It didn't take you long to verbalize what I saw upon opening my eyes for the first time, upon drawing my first breath...you didn't want me. "you are an unwanted child", you said.
Who does that, who says that to an innocent child? I don't know why it shocked me, again. Why it shook me to the core, why it broke my heart. I was in your body, I felt your hate, your pain, your emptiness. I knew, didn't I?

So many years and so much healing brought me back to those moments, the moments of birth and re-birth.
I finally felt the love of the Universe surround me, reminding me of my perfection, reminding me that I am enough.  I felt the love of 'being' at the moment of my re-birth. Too many beautiful souls and too little good wombs to carry them, was what the healer told me. A statement that helped ease the moment and bring more peace and acceptance. A few words that explained a question haunting me about so much and so many.

I may never know why you didn't want me or want to love me. Why you saw me as a threat, as a presence that was taking something away from you, rather than as the bundle of love I was and am.
I may never know if this was truly all you felt because you left before we could heal this together.

What I do know is: I want me and that I love me.
Everyday I work at remembering and loving me more, loving unconditionally, and thus healing the wounds inflicted upon arrival. I work toward healing all our pain and emptiness, knowing that when I heal my wounds and expand my love and remember my perfection, I do it for all of us, including your energy here.

Withholding....

I just read an interesting piece on withholding and it reminded me of my patterns when I first met my husband and for most of my relationships prior to that. It makes so much sense to be now and reading this article made me realize how much I have grown and changed and how much opportunity I still have for growth.

Emotional pain is usually at the root of our tendency to withhold and the most common form of withholding is what we call "the silent treatment", but it encompasses any unwillingness to express your true feelings. It also includes an unwillingness to give support, praise, or positive attention to the people you love.

Madisyn Taylor goes on to explain it further and very succinctly...."We have all known someone who is impossible to please, and many of us have suddenly found ourselves at the other end of a chilly silence with no explanation. At the same time, many of us will recognize our own tendency to withhold our emotions rather than express them. Most of us have seen both sides of the withholding dilemma. Emotional pain is at the root of our tendency to withhold, and withholding causes pain to the people subjected to it. It is a dysfunctional pattern that creates a breakdown in communication and understanding.

No one deserves to be subjected to withholding. Feeling ignored, disrespected, or shut out, and to not know why, is a terrible feeling. The first thing to remember if this is happening to you is that you are not to blame. You are caught in someone else's pain pattern. This person does not know how to express feelings in a healthy way probably because this is what they learned when she or he was a child. The second helpful thing to remember is that the withholder is acting out of pain. They are stuck in a habitual mode of response that is self-defeating and alienating to the people they love. Remembering this will help you feel compassion for the person hurting you. However, if you have suffered too long with this pattern, you may need to get some space. Take some time to look at your own patterns and understand why you have taken part in this drama. If you are dealing with people in a family situation, you can step up to the plate to help break the chain of this behavior pattern.

If, on the other hand, it is you that tends to withhold, understand that this is a learned response and it can be unlearned. Find safe places to begin to express all that you've been holding back. Begin to make an effort to say what you're feeling and thinking. Give praise to someone you love. The more you do this, the healthier you and your relationships will become. What was learned over a course of a life cannot be changed overnight--remember, one day at a time."

I know it is possible to change and be vulnerable and it all starts by opening your heart more and more ever day. The biggest and safest place to start practicing opening your heart further, and being vulnerable in expressing your inner feelings, thoughts and fears, is in a loving relationship. Our greatest opportunity for growth is in our relationships. Remember they mirror who we are and areas we need to address. Go ahead and start expressing yourself today. You and your health will benefit in ways you cannot even begin to imagine.
