How far have you moved away from yourself?

How often do we really contemplate this question...

Am I really here, present in this moment, present in my body. I think, we do not ask this often enough, or slow down long enough to even pretend to.  If we did, we would realize that some of us have no idea who or where we are, what we truly believe and the thoughts we repeatedly think and share.

It is my experience that most people have no idea what messages their bodies are sharing with them on a daily basis. They have very little idea that they are basically on the same treadmill going nowhere. Thinking the same thoughts, stuck in the same belief system. They keep hitting the same obstacles, their bodies keep trying to get their attention, some even going as far as to make them ill enough to try and slow them down so that they may finally pay attention. Maybe even stopping long enough to be present and say, hey what is really going on here. How did I get to this place, this moment... BUT most, EVEN then,  see it as an annoyance and they reach outside of themselves for a drug or advice, some even blaming an outside force/source, just to be able to get back to doing the same thing that brought them to this point in the first place.

Insanity is defined as doing that same thing over and over again expecting a different result.
The problem is that most don't even realize that they are doing the same thing again and again... Isn't that insane...and the cycle continues.
We run around keeping ourselves busy, entertaining our ego's, never paying attention to our essence. Some never even questioning the purpose of it all.

Hence, this question...How far have YOU moved away from yourself??
